About "LONG ROOTS"...

"LONG ROOTS" was released by David White in the summer of 2014 to critical acclaim.

The record is a refreshing blend of masterful storytelling and musicianship. It was produced by David White and released on his own Footpath Records label. The album’s sonic emphasis is one of restraint and understated production, allowing David’s moving lyrics and smooth baritone voice to take center stage.  All songs were written or co-written by David White.

The album features the talents of an incredible band including Jerry Douglas (dobro), Chris Thile (mandolin), Bryan Sutton (guitar and banjo) and Stuart Duncan (fiddle). Rounding out the band are Paul Franklin (pedal steel), Greg Garrison (upright bass) and Eric Darken (percussion). Harmony vocals are provided by JoAnna Janet and Dan Tyminski. Lead vocals are performed by David White, who also played guitar and percussion.

"LONG ROOTS" was recorded live over two rainy days at Dark Horse Studio, Franklin, Tennessee. Subsequent overdubs were done at Blackbird Studio, Station West, and Skaggs Place Studio. Recording engineering was done by Brent King and David White. Pro Tools editing was done by David White, and the album was mixed by Gary Paczosa. Mastering was done at The Mastering Lab in Ojai, CA.
